Most homeowners with solar panels check their app every so often, notice the numbers look a little low, and assume it's just a cloudy day. But a lot of the time, it's not the weather. It's the buildup sitting on top of the panels - dust, grime, bird droppings, and all the other stuff the Inland Empire air throws at a rooftop over time.

We cleaned the panels at a home in Fontana, and the customer was actually watching the numbers in real time through their Tesla app. When we started, the system was pulling 8.7kW. By the time we finished, it had climbed to 10.2kW. That's a 1.6kW jump - and the customer did the math themselves: the cleaning would pay for itself in about 45 days. That kind of feedback is exactly why we do this work.

Here's the thing about solar panel cleaning that most people don't think about - dirt doesn't have to be obvious to cost you. Even a thin film of dust cuts into how much light actually reaches the cells. Out here in the Fontana area, you've got dry conditions, wind, and plenty of particulate in the air. Panels can look fine from the ground and still be running well below where they should be.

We clean every panel surface thoroughly and carefully. No shortcuts. The goal is to get each panel back to the level of output it was designed to deliver - not just make them look good from the street. The before-and-after difference this customer saw wasn't a fluke. It's what happens when dirty panels get a proper cleaning done right.

If you haven't had your panels cleaned in a while and your production numbers have been creeping down, there's a good chance this is why. A simple cleaning could be all it takes to get your system back to where it belongs.
