Birds don't care that your solar panels are a significant investment. To them, the gap between your panels and the roof is just a free, shaded spot to nest. And once they move in, the mess builds fast - droppings, nesting debris, blocked airflow - all of it quietly working against your system.

On this Chino job, we were dealing with exactly that kind of situation. The panels needed a full cleaning, and the setup underneath needed to be locked down so birds couldn't get back in. That's a two-part problem, and it needs a two-part fix.

For the bird proofing side, we installed a heavy-duty wire mesh barrier along the perimeter of each panel array, secured tightly so there's no gap left for pigeons or other birds to squeeze through. The mesh sits flush against the panel frames and the roof line - clean, discreet, and built to hold up long-term. It doesn't interfere with airflow or panel performance. It just keeps the animals out.

The cleaning portion was just as important. Bird droppings are acidic and block sunlight from reaching the cells. Dirty panels don't produce at full capacity - it's that simple. We cleared off the buildup across every panel so the surface could actually do its job again.

When you combine both services in one visit, you're not just solving today's problem. You're protecting the system going forward. No more nesting, no more buildup, and panels that are back to running the way they should.
